# Tester Their app Tests Store ratings

Ranked by tests completed — each one confirmed by hand by the developer it helped, which is the only way a test counts here. Store ratings are a public fact about whatever that person shipped, read from the store as this page loads; nothing here rewards or asks for a review.

How it works

  1. 1 Test someone else's build Ask for a slot with a short pitch. The developer accepts or declines — closed testing is invitation-only on both stores anyway.
  2. 2 They confirm it helped You send private feedback. Only the listing's owner can mark it complete, and only that mints a token. Nobody credits themselves.
  3. 3 Spend it on your own app Tokens buy visibility for your listing — the placement a launch directory sells, except this one is earned.
What this isn't. Nobody here trades App Store or Play reviews, and nothing on this site ever asks a tester to leave one. Both stores ban incentivised reviews outright, and a developer account is not worth risking over a placement. Testers give you private feedback on a build; whether anyone reviews your app is between them and the store.

Questions

Is this against App Store or Play Store rules?

No. Nobody here trades reviews, and closed testing is invitation-only on both stores anyway — AppMates just helps you find people to invite. Testers give private feedback on your build; whether anyone reviews your app afterward is between them and the store.

How long does it take to find testers?

It depends on how active the community is when you ask, but testing itself needs no extra waiting — closed testing is invite-only regardless of where you find testers, so nothing here slows down what a store already requires of you.

Is AppMates free?

Yes. You earn testing slots by testing other apps, not by paying — there is no fee to use the marketplace or the pre-flight checks. Promoted sidebar placement is currently free too; see the pricing note when you request a slot.

My app isn't live yet — can I still use this?

Yes. The listing checks work from an App Store id or bundle id alone, before you've shipped anything. For testing, you'll need a working build you can invite people to (a TestFlight or closed-testing link) — the marketplace just helps you find who to invite.

What are the coloured cards on the sides?

Promoted slots — a handful of apps featured down either side of this page, each linked straight to its store listing. Click an open slot to see current pricing and request one, in whatever colour you'd like your card to be.
